Toshiba’s CEVO Engine is an ultra-powerful, multi-core processing platform designed to deliver new levels of image quality. As well as being able to display Full HD 3D images, the CEVO Engine also powers a processor dedicated to 2D-to-3D image conversion. Utilising the full power of the CEVO Engine processor, 2D content can be upscaled to high quality 3D in real time, giving you the ability to view your favourite 2D films in immersive 3D.

PRO-LED local dimming technology

Toshiba’s new PRO-LED panel which utilises a Full HD 1080p, hybrid back and edge-lit LED panel with local dimming zones to offers stunning picture quality with consistent brightness and enhanced deep colours. Black level performance is also significantly improved, with a high dynamic contrast ratio of 7,000,000:1 ensuring that everything from bright whites to deep blacks are accurately reproduced on screen, creating a superior overall viewing experience. CEVO and PRO-LED technology also combine to deliver a rapid image refresh rate, ensuring that fast moving images are accurately and smoothly reproduced in lifelike clarity.

Intelligent 3D image optimisation

The CEVO Engine powered Intelligent 3D feature also improves 3D viewing quality, countering potential colour dimming from active shutter 3D technology. The CEVO Engine conducts image analysis and adjusts picture levels to deliver optimal 3D brightness, colour and contrast resulting in 3D images closer to 2D brightness than ever before.

400hz picture processing using Active Vision M800 HD technology

Toshiba’s Active Vision M800HD picture processing technology improves the four key components of images displayed on-screen – enhancing detail, colour, contrast and motion, while a rapid 400Hz refresh rate ensures fast-paced scenes, sports and action movies are smoothly reproduced at all times.

Access to online entertainment content

Check out your favourite videos via YouTube, catch up on your favourite shows on BBC iPlayer and catch up with friends on Facebook. You can also get access to a range of other online content via Flickr, Aupeo internet radio, Cartoon Network and more through the Toshiba Places internet portal. All designed specifically for access via your TV remote control. Internet content can be accessed via this TV when connected to your home network (wirelessly via USB dongle or via Ethernet).

Automatic calibration

Auto calibration automatically adjusts colour and gamma levels to match them to studio quality. Auto calibration is made possible through the use of a measuring sensor (available separately) that transmits via USB to the TV’s built-in processor. The result is a simple, easy to use way to get the best possible image quality from your TV.

Built-in WiFi and DLNA ready

Built-in Wi-Fi allows you to wirelessly connect your TV to the internet, with DLNA technology giving you access to content stored on your compatible Windows 7 laptop over your home network. DLNA allows you to stream multimedia content including music, video and images to be enjoyed on your TV. Windows 7 certified.

iPhone remote control application

A Toshiba TV remote control application is available via the iTunes App store that allows remote control operation of this TV via iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch (over a Wi-Fi network).

Record and playback via USB HDD

USB HDD recording functionality allows you to record your favourite TV programmes to USB and includes features such as one touch recording, EPG recording, chase play, schedule change tracking, back to back recording and a library menu to view all of your recorded programmes. Also supports video, audio and photo file playback via USB.

Personal TV custom viewing (via face detection camera)

Personal TV allows you to save preferred settings including volume levels, picture settings and favourite channel lists for tailored viewing. You can switch between four personalised modes at the touch of a button, without having to manually adjust settings each time. The UL series also features a built-in camera that allows automatic adjustment of Personal TV settings via face recognition.

Digital Approved Product

Allows a TV to receive free-to-view digital broadcasts through its standard aerial with no need for an additional digital decoder box. Designed to work through the digital switchover.
