High-Definition Multimedia Interface is an all-digital audio/video interface capable of transmitting uncompressed streams. HDMI provides an interface between any compatible digital audio/video source and video monitor.
Audio Description
Audio Description (AD) provides a running commentary for viewers who are visually impaired and will benefit from the commentary. AD is available on selected Digital/ Freeview programmes.
Dynamic Contrast
Automatically adjusts brightness required by the signal. This system allows fine detail to be reproduced, without compromising the rendering of colourful, high-bright scenes, by dimming the backlight. Conversely, for bright scenes the backlight can be brightened to give images a new intensity.
HD Ready
High Definition (HD) Ready - To meet the HD ready standard the TV must have a minimum of 720p horizontal lines of pixels, and either an HDMI or DVI with HDCP and component connection. An HD Ready TV will be able to display an HD feed from any HD source
Component Video Input
Component Video is a connection method used for delivering high quality video images. This is the best available connection for DVD Video pictures.
