Toshiba’s local dimming solution offers LEDs directly behind the TV screen, offering an even spread across the entire screen. The inclusion of an LED backlight also offers an increased dynamic contrast
ratio of an incredible 2,000,000:1 which is significantly higher than LCD
TVs without LED technology. The advantage of the higher dynamic contrast ratios
is blacks become blacker and the depth of shades of black can be seen which
is ideal when watching dark scenes in movies.
LED TVs also offer quicker response times making the handling of fast moving images even more impressive. Toshiba’s Active Vision M200HD picture processing compliments the LED backlight by combining 100Hz technology
with intelligent backlight scanning to create a 200Hz effect.
